The origins of Double Coil Technology go back to the late 1990s, when we began exploring a completely new approach to healing. The original vision was to create a system that could provide treatment automatically while a person slept.
The proposed apparatus would be built into, or attached to, the patient’s bed. A practitioner would select a particular form of electromagnetic energy and apply it at a chosen frequency while monitoring the treatment.
The Original Experiments
We experimented with various coils connected to signal generators capable of producing a wide range of frequencies and intensities.
Although the early trials were interesting, they rarely produced the peaceful form of overnight treatment we had imagined. In practice, the person receiving the treatment often experienced an interrupted night’s sleep.
Over the following years, we returned to the project periodically, trying different arrangements and approaches. Despite considerable effort, we made little meaningful progress.
The Schumann Frequency
A significant change occurred in 2011, when a friend suggested that we investigate the Schumann resonance.
The phenomenon had been theoretically predicted by Winfried Otto Schumann in 1952 and was subsequently detected experimentally. It arises from electromagnetic resonances within the space between the Earth’s surface and the ionosphere, excited primarily by lightning activity.
We decided to experiment with coils formed from the windings of a toroidal transformer. These were connected to a signal generator set to approximately 7.83 Hz, the fundamental Schumann resonance frequency.
When the device was first switched on, we happened to be listening to music.
Almost immediately, we noticed what appeared to be a perceptible change. The music seemed more melodic, the ambience increased and the soundstage appeared noticeably larger while the coils were energised.
The Discovery of the Double Coil
When we examined the transformer more closely, we realised that two identical coils had been connected in series in a configuration designed to oppose and substantially cancel their electromagnetic fields.
We described this condition as the creation of Nothing.
However, this apparent Nothing seemed to produce an effect that did not fit comfortably within our understanding of conventional electromagnetic behaviour.
Over the next few years, we repeatedly attempted to record the apparent changes in the music. These attempts were unsuccessful.
Gradually, a different possibility emerged. Perhaps the music itself was not changing. Instead, the field appeared to be affecting our perception of the music.
This suggested that Double Coil Technology might be interacting in some way with human consciousness rather than altering the audio signal directly.

Listening Tests
We have now repeated the listening comparison with more than 200 people, including experienced musicians and a well-known record producer.
A large majority reported hearing a difference between the field being switched on and switched off. The most common descriptions included greater spaciousness, improved ambience and a more melodic or immersive quality.
Curiously, those who have been least likely to report a difference have often been teenagers. We do not yet know whether this reflects differences in hearing, attention, expectation or some other factor.
These listening tests remain subjective. More formally controlled and blinded experiments would be required to establish how reliably the effect can be identified and whether the results can be independently reproduced.
Exploring Therapeutic Effects
The Schumann resonance and some of its harmonics fall within frequency ranges that overlap with patterns commonly associated with human brain activity.
This encouraged us to investigate whether the Double Coil field might have effects beyond music perception.
We experimented with many different frequencies, including signals in the kilohertz and megahertz ranges. We also explored whether water could be exposed to the field and later used as a spray.
Many of these experiments produced no noticeable or repeatable result.
However, we received encouraging reports in two main areas:
● Negative states of mind, including anxiety.
● Allergies, hay fever and autoimmune conditions.
These observations do not constitute controlled medical evidence. Nevertheless, they appeared sufficiently consistent to justify further investigation and the development of simpler devices.
The Development of the Dongle
A later breakthrough involved using the small natural electrical potential differences present across the human body as the power source for the coils.
This created a form of feedback arrangement in which the body became part of the operating circuit.
The system was then simplified into a small portable device known as the DCT Dongle. It can be held in the hands, placed between the feet or worn around the neck as a pendant.
The development of the Dongle prompted us to create this website and make the information freely available.
Our aim is to find people who are willing to construct or trial the device and provide detailed, honest and balanced feedback.
Positive, neutral and unsuccessful results are all valuable. A clearer understanding can develop only when observations are recorded carefully and shared openly.
